End of Season Summary -
April 2010
| The 1st X1 can gain much comfort from the
fact they earned more league points than last season and finished higher
up the league. It was most unfortunate that Ismail's injury, late in the
season, put paid to a final flourish. However, the performances of the
younger players introduced this season have been most impressive and
give the Club much hope for a brighter future. The 2nd X1 Fathom side
only played thirteen games throughout the whole season because of the
apparent collapse of the Fathom structure. The playing record, such as
it is, reads pretty impressively with eight wins, two draws and only
three defeats. The team also averaged three goals a game. Munib Altaf
was leading scorer with twelve. Roll on next season and a full fixture
list!!
The Badgers started well, undefeated in their
first three games, but then stumbled with four defeats without scoring a
single goal, before recovering with two more victories. In the seven
games played since Christmas only one game was lost, albeit to Cannock
'A'. Haseeb Altaf showed his potential as leading goalscorer, with nine
goals. All in all a good season.
To date, the u12s have played seven games,
winning three of them. The team did very well to almost win the Club's
own tournament. The season ends with the annual trip to
Wales for the international matches there!!
